Women's Cardiology Services

Our specially trained cardiovascular professionals are dedicated to helping women lead heart-healthy lives. Women pose a higher risk  for heart disease than men, especially as they age, making preventative measures and early screening important tools in treatment.

There are three uncontrollable risk factors for heart disease in women: family history of coronary artery disease or stroke, women age 55 or older, and being post-menopausal. However, there are many risk factors that are controllable such as obesity, stress, substance abuse, smoking, diabetes, physical inactivity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. The more risk factors you have, the greater your risk of having a heart attack or stroke, healthy lifestyle choices can help lessen your chances.
