Patient Visitation Policy
- All visitors MUST obtain a designated visitors pass displaying the specific room & date
- Passes may be obtained from the information desk from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., during regular visiting hours
- Patients are limited to 3 visitors at a time
- Visitation policy is a part of the admission procedure and will be explained to the patient and family
- Children under the age of 12 may visit if accompanied by an adult at all times
- Visitation by children may be restricted dependent upon the patient’s condition and circumstances deemed appropriate by charge nurse or nursing supervisor
- Please do not visit if you have a cold, fever or flu-like symptoms
- Please wash your hands before and after your visit
- Marion Regional Healthcare System is a tobacco free campus
Each department within Marion County Medical Center is uniquely tailored to the needs of their patients, therefore some may have different visitation regulations. Please see department specific policies below.
Emergency Department – one visitor may be allowed at the discretion of the nurse/physician, exceptions may also be made
Forensic Patients – guarded prisoner-patients shall be denied visitors except in terminal cases and those cases with special consideration as approved by the custodial authority and law enforcement officials having jurisdiction over that patient
ICU & Labor and Delivery – Have specific department policies- contact either department for details
Isolation Patients – must check with nurse prior to entering room
Pediatrics – Only a parent/legal guardian may stay overnight with a patient under the age of 18. An immediate specified family member may stay if written consent is obtained from the parent/legal guardian.
Pediatrics 8 years of age and under must have parent/guardian or other adult authorized by parent/guardian with them at all times
Same Day Surgery – visitors may obtain pass from Information Desk
