Lloyd Named President & CEO of Marion Regional Healthcare System

Marion, SC--Donald H. Lloyd has been named President and CEO of Marion Regional Healthcare System.  This announcement comes on the heels of the retirement of former Chief Executive Officer, Harold E. Tucker.

Lloyd, who previously served as Executive Vice President, will be responsible for all clinical and financial operations of Marion Regional Healthcare System and its affiliates. The System generates approximately $140 million in gross revenues and serves a primary and secondary market population of 60,000 in northeastern South Carolina. Its roster is currently comprised of more than 600 employees including 30 active physicians, 90 physicians on courtesy and consulting staff, and 29 advanced practice nurses and physician assistants.

Prior to joining Marion Regional Healthcare System, Mr. Lloyd served as the Facility Administrator for the Pee Dee Regional Center and the Thad E. Saleeby Development Center in Florence and Hartsville, South Carolina respectively. These institutions provide specialized behavioral and medical services to the disabled and special needs citizens of South Carolina.

Early in Don’s career, he held positions as Director of Human Resources and Comptroller with the Laurens County Healthcare System. He also served as an Administrator and Chief Operating Officer with the Marion County Hospital District.  He has 25 years of experience in health finance, human resource recruitment and retention, and clinical operations.

Don is actively involved in many health-related professional societies and has served numerous community service organizations throughout his career. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Advisory Board of the Health Care Administration Program at Lander University.

Mr. Lloyd received his B.S. in Business Administration from Lander University and his M.B.A. at Francis Marion University.

Don and his wife, Monti, have tow children and one grandchild. They reside in Mullins, SC.

Marion Regional Healthcare System is a private, nonprofit organization that operates Marion County Medical Center, Mullins Nursing Center, and the new Aynor Medical Center.
