| Marion, SC--In celebration of National Hospital Week, May 6-12, Marion County Medical Center honored its employees with a number of special events including a physicians’ luncheon and picnic. “We felt it was important to pay tribute to those individuals and their spouses who give so much to make the hospital run smoothly on a day-to-day basis,” said Gene Tucker, President and CEO. “The medical staff works tirelessly to provide the best medical service possible to the residents of the Pee Dee.” In addition to the luncheon honoring the physicians and their wives, all Hospital employees were treated to a picnic highlighted by proclamations read by the Honorable James Little, Mayor of Nichols; Kenneth McDonald, Mayor of Mullins and Bobby Gerald, the Mayor of Marion. The proclamations, presented to Gene Tucker, President & CEO, Don Lloyd, Executive Vice President, and Dr. Robert Vyge, President of the Medical Staff, commended the Hospital on their 10th anniversary and thanked the staff for their excellent community service. According to Kimberly Woodberry, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Public Relations, “the event was so successful that employees are already looking forward to next year!” Woodberry, who helped coordinate the affair, made sure that the younger set had plenty to do. In additional to educational booths, children (of all ages) enjoyed such favorites as Bingo, tug of war, cakewalk, and musical chairs. |
