Marion Regional Healthcare System Wins Safety Award
Marion, SC- Marion Regional Healthcare System has been named one of six South Carolina healthcare organizations recognized as winners of a Palmetto Hospital Trust Safety Award at the PHT General Membership Meeting. Healthcare professionals from around the state attended the day-long event, held on June 12, 2009 in Columbia.
Safety Awards are presented each year to Palmetto Hospital Trust members with the lowest loss ratios in their categories. Marion Regional Healthcare System was the winner in the category of 101-200 beds.
“The Palmetto Hospital Trust is a remarkable organization dedicated to reducing risk in South Carolina hospitals and we are very honored to be presented with such a prestigious award,“ said Harold E. Tucker, Chief Executive Officer of the Marion Regional Healthcare System.
Palmetto Hospital Trust (PHT) was founded in 1977 by South Carolina healthcare executives as a group workers’ compensation self-insurance pool. The Trust members include hospitals, continuing care retirement centers, organizations dealing with special needs individuals, and other healthcare organizations.
