Aynor Medical Center Annexed Into City of Aynor

Aynor, SC- Aynor Medical Center, a division of Marion Regional Healthcare System has been annexed into the City of Aynor. This announcement is being made by Aynor Mayor, Rob Taylor.

“This annexation provides countless benefits to the residents of Aynor and the City itself,” said Taylor. “It is the impetus for improved infrastructure such as road paving, the addition of sidewalks and additional development. From an economic standpoint it means both increased revenue and additional jobs for our residents. This is welcomed in today’s economy.”

The Aynor Medical Center, scheduled to open late June 2009, will bring more than just a medical practice to Aynor.  The almost 6,000 square foot facility is designed to office two physicians, a nurse practitioner and provide radiology and laboratory services. “In essence we are bringing an entire medical community to Aynor,” explained Don Lloyd, Executive Vice President of Marion Regional Healthcare System, “the Aynor Medical Center will allow real time access to the technology and medical staff of our entire healthcare system.  This offers the citizens of Aynor a full compliment of physicians and services.”

Marion Regional Healthcare System also views this opportunity as a beginning for future expansion.  “We are continuing to look for ways to serve our surrounding communities.  The move to Aynor has been well received by the citizens of western Horry County and we hope to continue to expand into underserved areas.”

Marion Regional Healthcare System has been recognized statewide for its community health initiatives. Located on Highway 76- between Marion and Mullins, Marion Regional Healthcare System provides the best in medical technology and is home to some of the area’s most advanced medical equipment.
