Buckingham Named Corporate Compliance Officer

Marion, SC – Marion County Medical Center has named Sharron Buckingham, Corporate Compliance Officer. Buckingham will be responsible for adherence to Standards of Business Conduct, ensuring all employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations, that policies and procedures are being followed and that behavior within Marion County Medical Center meets the Company’s Standards of Conduct. A native of Bristol, Tennessee, Buckingham attended Milligan College where she received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in 2002 and Masters of Business Administration in 2005.  Buckingham has completed many professional courses including the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum with the American Academy of Professional Coders where she achieved such titles as CPC, Certified Professional Coder and CCS-P, Certified Coding Specialist-Physician with the American Health Information Management Association. “Sharron has an extensive background both as a Corporate Compliance Officer and a HIPAA Privacy Officer,” said Gene Tucker, CEO of Marion Regional Healthcare System.  “With Sharron’s guidance our organization will continue to lead the industry in adherence to standards of ethics, privacy and corporate responsibility.”
