Cardiovascular Services

Screenings and advanced diagnostic tests provide important insights about heart and blood vessels. Our Cardiovascular Services Department is equiped with the following:

  • Digital Ultrasound Systems: Capabilities include echocardiograms for the diagnosis of many different heart conditions.
  • Vascular Ultrasound Systems: Utilizes high-frequency sound waves to diagnose arterial and venous disease.
  • Electrocardiograms (EKG's): Records the eletrical activity of the heart and diagnoses irregular heart rates, skipped/abnormal beats, etc.
  • Electroencephalograms (EEG's): A technique used to diagnose abnormalties in the electrical activity of the brain.
  • Stress Tests: A treadmill and monitoring equipment are used to determine the level of fitness. Along with Nuclear Imaging, this can pinpoint blockages in the coronary arteries.
  • Holter Monitoring: A small, portable device that provies continuous 24 or 48 hour monitoring to confirm rhythm patterns of the heart.
  • Event Monitoring: A small, portable device which can be worn for up to 30 days and provides patient-activated, symptom-correlated, monitoring to confirm rhythm patterns of the heart.
