Respiratory Care

Marion County Medical Center offers respiratory care designed specifically to treat patients with breathing disorders due to serious illness or accident.  Our team of healthcare professionals are instrumental in helping diagnose, treat, manage, control, rehabilitate and provide preventive care for patients with respiratory problems.

Marion County Medical Center provides inpatient services to a full range of patients, with an emphasis on acute and critical care.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Respiratory Care recently began offering a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program to outpatients from all areas of the Pee Dee and Grand Strand.  Pulmonary Rehab is designed to help people with lung disease cope with their illness and live the best quality of life they possibly can.  The program offers medically supervised exercise with a Registered Respiratory Therapist, along with an additional educational component, helping the patient learn about their disease, medication use and nutrition.  The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program lasts for 36 visits, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Sleep Lab

Coming Soon!   Marion County Medical Center's Respiratory Care Department will also feature a two bed state-of-the art Sleep Laboratory.  Sleep disordered breathing is a growing problem in today's society, and undetected can lead to such serious illnesses as heart disease and diabetes.  Sleep studies will also be performed by a Registered Respiratory Therapist, who will also be trained in an American Academy of Sleep Medicine, a Step Polysomnography program.
