The Den:
The Labor and Delivery Department of Marion County Medical Center, known to our families as The Den, is where families gather and memories are made. The Den provides the area's finest family maternity care.  We appreciate your desire for visitors, and know your family and friends want to visit you and meet your new baby.  Marion County Medical Center gives parents the opportunity to have visitors, labor support, siblings and extended family present during the labor and delivery process.

What can the Labor and Delivery Department offer you?
Marion County Medical Center offers private birthing rooms to provide a comfortable environment during all stages of pregnancy.  Our staff includes highly skilled doctors, anesthesiologists, nurse practitioners, RN’s and LPN’s, all who attend to your individual needs and preferences, offering a variety of options for your care.  We provide a wealth of information on pregnancy and prenatal care, and can help you prepare for labor, delivery and postpartum care.

What pain relief options are available?
Marion County Medical Center offers several different techniques to keep you comfortable during the delivery of your baby.  Throughout your labor, your anesthesiologist will monitor your progress and deliver medications as needed to keep you relaxed and comfortable.  

Does Marion County Medical Center offer childbirth/education classes?
Marion County Medical Center offers breastfeeding and childbirth education classes that can help you obtain the knowledge, confidence and support you need during your pregnancy and after the birth of your baby.  As you prepare for your new arrival, consider taking advantage of some excellent resources at your disposal.
